Miami County Subsidized Card Program receives approval for renewal from Peru Public Library Board

MIAMI COUNTY, IN- The Miami County Subsidized Card Program received approval for renewal from the Peru Public Library Board, the Miami County Commissioners, and the Miami County Council. The Program will provide up to $75,000 of funding from Miami County CEDIT funds to the Peru Library for county residents living outside of the Peru Library Taxing District to obtain individual non-resident library cards on a first come first serve basis. These cards entitle the holder full access to all library services. The county will pay the $75 per card fee which is what county residents, who do not pay for library services on their property tax bills, must pay to receive an individual library card. County residents who wish to obtain a library card can visit the Peru Public Library starting March 8th. Adults must fill out an application, show documentation that they are a current resident of Miami County and show a driver’s license or state issued ID with matching address. The resident must also be in good standing with the library. A parent or guardian must accompany all children getting cards and meet the above qualifications. All cards will be issued under adopted library circulation policies. For questions call 765-473-3069.
