Miami County Chamber of Commerce Celebrating 100 Years in Serving the Business Community

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – Miami County Chamber of Commerce celebrating 100 years in serving the business community.  The event was held at the Milestone Event Center on the Grissom Aeroplex.  Chamber member restaurants and food service provided a smorgasbord for the attendees.  Tidbits of the Chamber History highlighted the program.  56th Annual meeting and awards were announced after the dinner:
2016 Above Beyond Recognitions:  State Cardinal Bird- Syd and Jolene Kubesch,  State Tulip Tree- Beth Rhodes, State P47 Air Craft- Steve Dobbs and Jim Tidd,  State Flower- Brenda Douglas, State Wabash River- Peru Tribune, State Beverage Water- Christina Reed and Vincent Edmonds, State Sugar and Cream Pie- Linda Baker,  State Bicentennial Bison- Mary Gross
2016 Community Involvement Award- Peru Local Lions Club,   2016 Business of the Year- Dean Baldwin’s Painting,  2016 Community of Character Pillar Award- Co Winners were Sandy Chittum and Paulette Wilkinson,  2016 Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year- Co Winners were Vicki Draper and Ellen Mock,   Peru Tribune’s Cultural Heritage Award- Christine Bowyer,  Peru Tribune’s Civil Servant Award- Myles Hewitt, and the 2016 Peru Tribune’s Citizen of the Year- Ron Short,  Ron Short thoughts after the ceremony,
A special Thank You to TIME TRAVELERS who was the entertainment for the evening, Dignitaries that attended, all the people that supports the Chamber of Commerce.  All proceeds to benefit the Miami County Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund.
