WABASH,Indiana – At a short Wabash City Council meeting Monday night, the council unanimously approved General Ordinance No. 3, 2016, which cleans up language in an ordinance passed by the previous administration regarding ambulance and wastewater billing services. Now, Fire Chief Barry Stroup will be responsible for ambulance billing and Wastewater Superintendent Bob Gray will oversee wastewater billing instead of Mayor Scott Long.

The Mayor then swore in Probationary City Police Patrolman Kody Case and Probationary Firefighter Kyle Foster in front of their friends and family. Case, who graduated from Northfield High School in 2009, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Ball State University. Probationary Patrolman Case will attend the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in his first year on duty.

Probationary Firefighter Kyle Foster told MiBash News that is was an exciting night to be sworn in in front of his family. Foster is a 2007 Northfield graduate who has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Ivy Tech Kokomo. He also spent four years as a combat medic in the Army National Guard.

MiBash News was the only media outlet to bring you the story of Firemen/Paramedics Dennis Vigar and Jason Davis volunteering their time in Kokomo helping out at the short-staffed Community Howard Regional Health Hospital on the day of Howard County Sheriff Deputy Carl Koontz’s funeral. At Monday night’s council meeting, Mayor Long informed that the Hospital sent a letter to the Wabash City Fire Department officially thanking them for the service of the two firefighters.

Finally, the Mayor informed that a report regarding the GDX site is expected soon. Monday was also the 150th birthday of the city of Wabash and a celebration is planned at next month’s First Friday event.
