Mayor Scott Long and Clerk Treasurer Wendy Frazier receive highest designation and certification


WABASH, IN – Mayor Scott Long and Wendy Frazier the Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Wabash recently attended the Accelerated Indiana Municipalities (AIM) Summit of Ideas Conference in French Lick, Indiana. Mayor Scott Long received the designation of Indiana City Leadership Executive, the highest designation in the organization, and Wendy Frazier received the AIM Certified Municipal Official certification.
Mayor Scott Long attended the Mayor’s Institute, a high-level learning experience for all Hoosier
Mayors. The Mayor’s Institute featured highly substantive sessions led by Aim staff, Ball State
faculty, and guest speakers. All sessions were timely, relevant, and essential, and featured
many opportunities for Mayors to share innovative, effective strategies to run city government.
This designation indicates both mastery of contemporary matters and a substantive contribution
to innovative thought in the field of municipal governance.
“The opportunities AIM and Ball State Mayors Institutes afforded Mayors in the State of
Indiana are invaluable. Continued education and networking allow Mayors to stay up to date on
legislative changes, state agency rule making, and a plethora of topics significant to local
government. Staying abreast of this allows me to steer the ship that is the City on a progressive
course. I am fortunate to have received this award” stated Mayor Scott Long.
AIM’s purpose is “To foster, promote and advocate for the success of Hoosiers municipalities as
laboratories of innovation, hubs of talent and the engines driving our state’s economy.” AIM is
committed to supporting our state’s municipal officials and helping to shape Indiana
municipalities of the future by providing relevant education on the best ways to manage a
municipality. A great example of the innovative, quality education programs offered across the
state is the Municipal Management Institute (MMI). MMI workshops and webinars cover relevant
issues and approaches that apply to managing any municipality.
Wendy Frazier, Clerk-Treasurer for the City of Wabash completed the MMI Accreditation
Program and earned the certification of AIM Certified Municipal Official. Wendy enhanced her
management and leadership skills and learned new techniques for tracking common issues and
improving services for citizens.

dedicated to continuing my education to keep abreast of the ever-evolving changes in local
