MARION, Ind. – On August 3rd, 2021 approximately 4:11am, Marion Police responded to McClure Oil Corporation, located at 2915 South Adams Street for an armed robbery.
Penny Perkins (Clark) reported she was inside the store counting cigarettes, when a black male wearing a dark hoodie with the hood up and wearing a mask walked up to the register. Perkins reported that he asked for a pack of blueberry Swishers. Perkins reported when she began to ring up the purchase at the register, the male displayed a knife approximately six inches, with a black handle.
The suspect told her to open the register and give him all the money. Perkins reported that she had gave him the register drawer to take the money. Perkins reported the suspect took what he wanted from the register. He then told Perkins to turn away from him. The suspect then fled the store running at a northeast direction.
