Marion Police Department Youth Academy Application Deadline is 4pm July 2, 2019

MARION, Ind. – The Marion Police Department will be hosting the 11th annual Youth Academy from July 9th through July 12th at the Marion Police Department. The Youth Academy is intended for youths between the ages of 12 through 15 years of age. It is a four day academy designed to give youth the opportunity to see the inner working of law enforcement. The youth will be able to participate in firearms, K-9, SWAT, Criminal Investigations, Repelling, Accident Investigations, Emergency Vehicle Operations and much more. The week is filled with classroom style instruction as well as taking tours of the Jail and Juvenile Detention Centers.

The Academy will begin each day at 8am and conclude at 4pm. Each participant is required to provide his or her own transportation to and from the Police Department. Lunches are provided as well as academy shirts that must be worn during the entire academy. At the conclusion of the course there will be a graduation celebration where family and friends can come and see the accomplishments of the youth academy participants.

There is no cost for this academy however there is an application process that must be completed and approved by the academy staff.
