Man Suspected of Robbing Peru Bank Arrested in Michigan

PERU, Ind. – The man the Peru Police Department suspected of robbing Beacon Credit Union on North Broadway, on July 28th, has been arrested in Michigan. The Peru PD Detective Branch has been in contact with other departments and found similarities to the robbery that had occurred on July 28th. Peru Police Chief Mike Meeks said “Our detectives have worked diligently since the day the robbery occurred at Beacon Credit Union. This is a great example of Police agencies networking and working together to put a suspected serial robber behind bars.” The suspect, Jacob Savickas, 33, was arrested in Grand Rapids, Michigan and is being held on a $200,000 bond for bank robbery and being a habitual offender.
