PERU, Ind. – The Peru Police Department was contacted recently by the Indiana Department of Transportation and were advised that the intersection of US24 and North Broadway will have alterations to it. The yellow flashing light that is activated in the north/south turn lanes will not be activated during the hours of Noon to 6pm each day. It will be a green turn light only during that time. There seems to have been some confusion on the part of drivers at that intersection with how to handle the yellow flashing light, causing more frequent crashes. INDOT seems to believe the sun may be a contributing factor.
