Indiana Department of Transportation Announces the Closing of Two Bridges in Miami County

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that two Bridges will be closed starting October 20th.  The bridge work is scheduled for State Road 18 and State Road 19 in Miami County.  Work will allow INDOT contractors to complete Final Stages of bridge deck rehabilitation work.
The work on State Road 18 bridges are over Sugar and Honey Creeks in Miami County, 1.5 miles west of State Road 19.  State Road 18 is scheduled to be closed between County Road South 600 East and State Road 19.  The detour route is U.S. 31 to State Road 218 to State Road 19.
The work on State Road 19 over Little Pipe Creek, near Santa Fe in Miami County, between County Road 775 South and County Road 450 East near Santa Fe will be restricted to one sixteen foot lane controlled by a temporary traffic signal to alternate vehicles over the one-lane bridge.
Closure on State Road 18 and restriction on State Road 19 will be in effect now until early November, weather permitting.  The projects were awarded to Yates Construction Company for $1.6 million
