Honeywell Arts & Entertainment releases 2023 Annual Report


Wabash, IN – Honeywell Arts & Entertainment has released its 2023 Annual Report, showcasing a year of significant growth and success. The Annual Report exhibits the organization’s increasing reach through programs, services, and live entertainment that have enriched the lives of thousands in Wabash and across the region. Honeywell Arts & Entertainment venues include the Honeywell Center, Eagles Theatre, Honeywell House, Charley Creek Gardens, Dr. Ford Historic Home, 13-24 Drive In, and the Clarkson House.
Honeywell President and CEO Tod Minnich and 2023 Honeywell Board Chair Sally Krouse state, “While this annual recap is heavy on numbers as we measure our impact, we remind ourselves that each and every number is a reflection of someone’s memories, inspiration, and betterment. And we’re so incredibly humbled that you, our supporters, continue to grow this inspiration by your generous contributions.”
Live performances remain a cornerstone of the Honeywell Arts & Entertainment experience, with over 130 shows held in 2023 at the Honeywell Center, Eagles Theatre, and partner venues across Indiana and Ohio. With shows spanning multiple genres, there was something for everyone. Over 128,500 tickets were sold for live performances across all venues. Of the attendees to the Honeywell Center and Eagles Theatre, 83% of ticket buyers came from outside Wabash County, furthering the impact on the local area.
One of the key areas highlighted in the report is Honeywell Arts In Education, a collection of programs created for educators to bring the benefits of the arts into the classroom. The programs are available to educators at little or no cost to schools, allowing all students to participate. The Honeywell Arts In Education initiative provided more than 51,000 student interactions across 14 counties and 85 schools in Indiana. Programs included Visual Thinking Strategies, student art exhibits, teaching artist residencies, curriculum-based theater performances, and an accredited media arts program for high school students.
Honeywell Arts & Entertainment also offered a range of arts and enrichment programs throughout 2023, including Summer Theater Camp with 83 student participants, Summer Art Camp with 131 student participants, and 11 visual art exhibits featuring works by student, amateur, and professional artists throughout the year. Arts for All, a new initiative that launched in the fall of 2023, offers visual arts, music, and theatre opportunities for all ages. The program facilitates engagement in the arts through classes, workshops, and lessons in a wide range of arts areas.
In addition, Honeywell Arts & Entertainment continued to provide popular movie showings, selling over 34,600 tickets and10,100 buckets of popcorn. The organization also hosted 423 business meetings and events, 19 wedding celebrations, 187 skating and movie parties, and served more than 16,200 guests in Eugenia’s Restaurant at the Honeywell Center.
Honeywell Arts Academy was another significant highlight of the year, providing full-scholarship programs for emerging musicians led by GRAMMY-winning Artistic Director Ranaan Meyer and world-renowned faculty. The Academy attracts global talent and has hosted scholars from Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, Germany, Haiti, Mexico, Romania, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States. In 2023, 20% of the live performance audience was new to the Arts Academy Experience.
Honeywell Arts & Entertainment is made possible thanks to generous donor support, with support increasing by 22% in 2023.
The organization is grateful for the incredible leadership and guidance of the Board of Directors, a network of generous volunteers, and the Honeywell team, who play an important role in the mission. In 2023, 124 volunteers donated nearly 11,000 hours, alongside 49 full-time and 102 part-time team members. This success has led to the growth shown in this report: further reach for live entertainment, more student art opportunities, and a larger economic impact on the region.
