Grant County Prosecutor’s Office Files Charges on Murder from 2001

Oklahoma authorities charge man in 24-year-old cold case - KOAM

GRANT COUNTY, Ind. – The Grant County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges on a murder that took
place on December 28th, 2001.  The Marion Police Department in conjunction
with the Grant County Prosecutor Investigators submitted the investigation for
review by Elected Prosecutor Rodney Faulk, Chief Deputy Prosecutor Evan
Hammond, and Deputy Prosecutor Scott Hunt.  After reviewing it was decided
that Darwish Bowlds would be charged with the murder of Jessie “Pete”
Flowers.  Probable cause for the arrest of Mr. Bowlds was granted by Superior
Court I Judge Jeffrey Todd and Mr. Bowlds was subsequently arrested on the
issued warrant by the Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department on December 1st, 2021. Mr. Bowlds is currently awaiting extradition to Grant County.   Prosecutor
Elect Rodney Faulk stated, “Today is a day that will start the journey to bring this
case to a resolution so that the family of Jesse “Pete” Flowers can get justice for
their family member, some peace, and closure”.  “As your elected prosecutor I
vow to always do what I believe is right in the interest of justice and filing charges
in this case is right”.
