Fire Damages Two Homes in Wabash Saturday

WABASH – The fire was confined to the building of origin with some damage to the house next door due to heat and water. The fire caused an estimated $75000 in damage to the structure and estimated $20000 to contents. The cause of the fire remains under investigation and appears to have started in the rear section of the structure. There were no injuries reported and crews were advised upon arrival that all residents were out of the building upon arrival. The fire was determined to be extinguished at 1344 and crews were released at 1500. The Officer in Charge called in both off duty shifts to assist in suppression efforts. Wabash County EMA and Wabash Police Department personnel assisted with the scene.
