Dukes Memorial Hospital recognizing American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Campaign

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. – Dukes Memorial Hospital is recognizing the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women® campaign and celebrating National Heart Month to help raise awareness and save more lives. With approximately 2,300 Americans dying of cardiovascular disease each day, an average of one death every 38 seconds, chances are we all know someone affected by heart disease and stroke. Fortunately, 80 percent of cardiac events such as premature heart disease, stroke, and diabetes may be prevented with education and lifestyle changes. The biggest part of living healthy comes down to simply making healthy choices. While you can’t change things like age and family history, the good news is that even modest modifications to your diet and lifestyle can improve your heart health and lower your risk.
