MARION, Ind. – The victim of the early morning shooting has been identified as Isaiah D. Horton, age 25 of Marion. An autopsy will be conducted at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center pending scheduling.
Arrested: Vincent W. Sharp Jr., age 24 of Marion. Upon police investigation, Sharp was located in Kokomo and transported back to Marion by detectives.
Sharp agreed to speak with police concerning the incident and was brought to the police department. During the interview, Sharp confessed to the shooting of Horton. Sharp reported that early this morning he was walking his dog and spotted Horton walking in the area. Sharp reported that Horton made a comment to him about a family member. Sharp reported that he then ran after Horton and began shooting at him. Sharp reported that this was part of an ongoing feud between the two.
Sharp was arrested on preliminary charges of: Murder
Serious Violent Felon in Possession of a Firearm
A 9mm handgun was recovered and is pending ballistics testing at the ISP Laboratory.
