WABASH, Ind. – The City of Wabash is preparing for the predicted severe storm this weekend, planning Primary Snow Routes that will be first to cleared. It is our intention to concentrate on the main roads within the city to allow emergency response personnel access to facilities most needed. The following streets will be concentrated on first:
Wabash Street from US 24 to Stitt Street
Alber Street from US 24 to Cass Street
John Kissinger Drive from Alber Street to Wabash Street
Harrison Avenue from Cass Street to Manchester Avenue
Stitt Street from US 24 to Wabash Street
Falls Avenue from US 24 to Sinclair Street
Sinclair Street from Falls Avenue to Wabash Street
Allen Street from Manchester Avenue to Canal Street
East Street from Manchester Avenue to Hill Street
Hill Street from Mill Street to the east City Limits
Main Street from Wabash Street to Cass Street
Market Street from Mill Street to Allen Street
Canal Street from Mill Street to Allen Street
Cass Street from Canal Street to Smith Street
Huntington Street from Market Street to LaFontaine Avenue
Smith Street from Cass Street to Vernon Street
LaFontaine Avenue from Wabash Street to the City Limits
Vernon Street from Bent Street to SR 13
Columbus Street from Wabash Street to the City Limits
Pike Street from Vernon Street to the City Limits
Hale Drive from Vernon Street to SR 13
Quaker Avenue from Pike Street to Columbus Street
Wedcor Avenue/Beauchamp Drive from SR15 to 100S
Division Road from SR 15 to Garden Drive
When the Primary Snow Routes are cleared, the Street Department will then begin clearing secondary, or neighborhood streets. Predicted winds are to be near 40 mph during this event as forecasted, so expect heavy drifting to occur. This will mean the Street Department may need to go back and maintain these primary streets. Please be patient with our personnel, and as always if you need Medical Assistance are unable to travel due to road conditions, contact Wabash County Central Dispatch at 563-9223, and they will notify our Street Department who will clear the Street so you can get to care. While the forecast has remained consistent all week calling for heavy snow and high winds this weekend, this is Indiana and the weather can change at the blink of an eye. Your City just wants to be prepared for the worst and we hope for the best!
