City of Peru Mayor addresses 4th of July celebration

This from City of Peru Mayor Miles Hewitt: PERU, IN- Each year, the City of Peru hosts a 4th of July celebration at Maconaquah Park for the citizens of Peru.  The event is FAMILY-FRIENDLY, FUN and, best of all, FREE!

The event includes food vendors, games, prizes, entertainment and a wonderful fireworks display!  This is one of the largest City events hosted throughout the year and we would LOVE for you to be a part of it!

While the event is FREE to all those attending, there are still costs associated.  Some of the costs cover prizes for games (3 age brackets for seed spitting, hula hoop and sack races), entertainment fees, and maintenance.  THIS is where you are needed!

If you would like to help support this event, donations can be:
-MONETARY ** (checks payable to City of Peru, mailed to City of Peru, ATTN:  Lori Hawk, 35 S Broadway, Peru, IN 46970 or dropped off to City of Peru Clerk’s Office during office hours)
-ITEMS (including certificates to your business, products/service)** (Items for the game prize giveaways.  Games include Seed Spitting, Sack Races & Hula Hoop.  Three separate age brackets for each:  10 and Under, 11-17, 18 +).

We appreciate any help you can provide.  All sponsors will be recognized on the day of the Independence Day celebration.

Please call City Hall at 765-472-2400 or email mayorsadmin@cityofperu.orgwith your donation information or any questions.
