Charles H. Fisher, 78, Marion, passed away at 1:07 am on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Wesleyan Health Care & Rehabilitation Center in Marion. He was born in Clay County, Kentucky, on Saturday, September 1, 1945, to General and Lydia (Harris) Fisher. On September 21, 1968, he married Mary Stevens, who survives.
Charles graduated from Laurel Co. Bush High School (London, Kentucky). After moving to Marion, Indiana, he worked in maintenance in all of the Grant County facilities and at Marion General Hospital (now Marion Health). Charles loved to fish, and he enjoyed playing softball and basketball.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Thomas W. Fisher of Marion; daughter, Katherine Fisher of Marion; grandson, Zachary Fisher; granddaughters, Alison (James) Curtin of Lakeville, MA, Ashley (Nicholas) Shook of Marion, Emily Bowman, and Lauren Fisher; brother, Leonard Fisher; and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Tamara K. Pence; son, Daniel Fisher; and eight siblings.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
Immediately following the time of visitation, a service to celebrate Charles’ life will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Grant Memorial Park.
