MIS JA BizTown Interviews - 1

NORTH MANCHESTER — Recently, the 5th graders at Manchester Intermediate School (MIS) participated in Junior Achievement BizTown interviews. MIS has embraced the BizTown experience for several years and continues to provide students with the opportunity to partake in the activities.

Helping with the interviews this year, were 16 volunteers comprised of Manchester Community Schools’ faculty and staff, as well as current and retired community business owners and associates.

Students were asked to choose three jobs from a specified list of available positions. They were then required to go through an interview process in order to qualify themselves for the jobs they selected. Students were advised to wear professional, business attire and every interview began and ended with a handshake. After a complete review of the interview summaries, the students will be placed in their “best match” positions and 28 parent volunteers will be assigned to each of the businesses. The entire process is meant to be as close to a real-life career search scenario as possible.

The final segment will culminate on May 19, 2017 as the students travel to the Junior Achievement BizTown in Fort Wayne. The students are sure to remember this experience and carry the lessons they learn into their future career endeavors!
