It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sheila Darlene Fite Garza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born on December 10, 1944, Sheila lived a cheerful and joyful life, dedicated to her family and appreciating each day God gave her on this earth. Sheila worked as a teacher’s aide at Marion Community Schools and received immense pleasure from being recognized and greeted by one of her now-grown “kids” when she was out and about.
Sheila had a sunny, vibrant personality that made her a joy to be around. She was an accomplished seamstress, known for making her own clothes with a boisterous style and an eye for color and design. Sheila loved country music and enjoyed bowling in her younger years. She was an expert cake decorator and made the world’s best fudge. Her creativity, cheerfulness, and good humor will be remembered by all who knew her.
Sheila was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Garza. She leaves behind her three children: Diana Garza (husband, Richard Guethlein); Chris Garza (fiancée, Shirley Rodriguez); and Guadalupe Garza (wife, Brandi Garza). She is also survived by her sister, Sherry Rust; her niece, Malana Warner, and family; and her grandchildren: Carey Foss (husband, Paul Parker), Jacob Watson, and Nathan Garza, who will forever cherish her memory.
Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of Sheila’s life on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Visitation will take place from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm. Pastor Mick Simpkins will be officiating with burial immediately following at Grant Memorial Park in Marion, Indiana.
Sheila’s memory will forever remain in our hearts, and we are thankful for each day she brightened our lives with her love.
