Sharon Kay Stambaugh, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend, passed away on April 10, 2025, at the Timbercrest Healthcare Center in North Manchester. Born on January 31, 1951, in Wabash, to Oscar Myrl and Mary Alice (Grossnickle) Monce, Sharon’s life was a testament to the values of faith, family, and friendship.
On June 8, 1973, Sharon married the love of her life, Harold Stambaugh. Together they built a beautiful family, blessed with two daughters, and shared many joyful moments, including treasured Friday night dinner dates and shopping! The bonds of love and companionship that Sharon fostered were central to her life, and she took great pleasure in cooking for her family and bringing them together.
Sharon dedicated nearly fifty years of her career to Heckman Bindery, now known as HF Group, where she poured her heart and soul into her work until her retirement in 2018. Her commitment to her profession was matched only by her dedication to her family.
Sharon was a woman of deep faith, holding her beliefs close to her heart. As a member of Faith Baptist Church in North Manchester, her love for her Lord and Savior was evident in all aspects of her life. She approached her relationships with a kind and gentle spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and community alike. Those blessed enough to know Sharon often noted that her friends were as dear to her as her family.
The loving memory of Sharon Kay Stambaugh will be forever cherished by her husband, Harold Stambaugh, North Manchester; daughters, Nicole (Sean) Oldfather, Columbia City and Natalie (Tim) Stangland, Fort Wayne; sister, Beverly Behny, North Manchester; grandchildren, Colby, Robyn (Jakob), Reagan, and Lily; soon-to-be one great-grandchild; and she was a proud aunt and cousin. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Rodney M. Monce; and sister, Mary Ellen Lewallen.
Family and friends may call Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester. Funeral services will begin at the conclusion of calling with Pastor Steve Hovda officiating. Burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in North Manchester.
