WABASH, IN-Downtown Wabash, Inc. is excited to announce the Wabash County Animal Shelter will host the upcoming September First Friday event, taking place on Miami Street on September 6th from 5-8pm. This special event will feature a wide range of activities designed to entertain and engage the local community, particularly pet lovers and families.
One of the main highlights of the event will be a dog agility demonstration by "The Dog Man of Wabash." This lively showcase will feature impressive training techniques and dog skills, providing both entertainment and inspiration for attendees to explore new activities with their own pets.
The Wabash Animal Shelter will also host a pet adoption booth, giving community members the chance to meet and potentially adopt their new furry best friend. Shelter staff will be on hand to answer any questions and help find the perfect match for those looking to add a pet to their family.
“The Wabash County Animal Shelter is thrilled to host this First Friday event because it provides a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness about animal welfare and engage with our community,” said Diane Morris, treasurer of the Board of Directors for the shelter. “By coming together, we can showcase the incredible animals in our care and highlight the importance of adoption and support. It’s a chance to celebrate our shared commitment to giving every animal a loving home.
Adding to the fun, Kaleigh M Photography will offer a pet photography booth where attendees can capture memorable moments with their pets. The booth promises to provide cherished keepsakes of the day’s festivities. Additionally, Live Like Karlie will showcase an array of unique pet accessories, including stylish dog bandanas and hats. A book written by Live Like Karlie will also be available, providing an excellent opportunity for pet lovers to find special gifts.
For those looking to satisfy their taste buds, the food truck plaza will be set up at Veterans Plaza, featuring Amazn Azn, Nick’s Dog Cart, Fairfax Coffee Co., The Franklin Mobile Bar, Carol Sue’s BBQ, and Emmett’s Paddy Wagon. Sammy D the UkuLady will also make her return to Veterans Plaza. Along Miami Street, local vendors will display a wide range of products, crafts, and treats, giving attendees plenty of opportunities to shop and support small businesses and organizations. To ensure safe transportation and easy access to additional event parking, Trolley No.85 will run a free route with various stops throughout Downtown Wabash.
