Roger Dean Gerber

Roger Dean Gerber, born on July 26, 1949, in North Manchester, to Kenneth Burdett and Anne (Boyd) Gerber, passed away on April 7, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.

Roger’s journey began in the quiet town of North Manchester, where he was raised with a strong work ethic that would guide him throughout his life. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1968, entering the workforce soon after, where he found his calling in construction. His knowledge and expertise, coupled with an unwavering commitment to quality, made him a respected figure in the industry. In addition to his work in construction, he was also gifted in automotive body work, showing an aptitude for creativity as well as precision.

Those who knew Roger would describe him as organized and a perfectionist. These traits contributed to his success but also colored his approach to life. He had a strong personality, often set in his ways, which became part of his identity. Yet, it was his great sense of humor that endeared him to friends and family alike, creating a warm environment that balanced his more serious attributes.

The loving memory of Roger Gerber will be forever cherished by his daughter, Stacy (Tim) Fox, North Manchester; sons, Christopher Gerber, Bluffton, Jason Hill, Tennessee, and Brian Hill, Lafayette; brother, Kenneth L. Gerber, Angola; and ten grandchildren. Roger was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Carl Gerber and Phillip Hollingsworth.
