WABASH COUNTY, IN- Visit Wabash County and Parkview Wabash Hospital are pleased to announce the ninth
year of the ‘Liking for Biking’ riding series that will begin on May 3 at 9 AM. Parkview
Wabash Hospital has been a community health partner for the program since its
inception in 2017.
From May 3 through August 23, anyone interested in a free, family-friendly 60-minute
bike ride is invited to meet at 8:45 AM each Saturday. The starting location will alternate
between Alley Cat Outfitters and Parkview Wabash Hospital each week. Be sure to
check the Wabash County Adventure Series Facebook page or
visitwabashcounty.com for the start location. Volunteers from the Spikes and Bikes bike
club have offered to lead the weekly rides in a fun and engaging atmosphere.
“Bringing families and friends together for a weekly wellness event that inspires people
to get outside and stay active is a big part of Visit Wabash County’s Adventure Series,”
said Stephanie Rogers, Experiences Manager at Visit Wabash County. “This program
wouldn’t be possible without the generous support of Spikes and Bikes bike club,
Parkview Wabash Hospital, and Aley Cat Outfitters.”
Start and finish the season with a free health assessment provided by Parkview Wabash
Hospital. The optional assessment helps measure individual participants’ progress from
the beginning of the riding season to the end. A free health assessment will be offered
on May 31 from 8:15 AM to 9 AM inside entrance 10 at Parkview Wabash Hospital, while
the rest of the rides will start at either Aley Cat or Parkview Wabash Hospital, with
wheels rolling right at 9 AM.
“The Spikes and Bikes club has always enjoyed helping lead the weekly rides,” said
Shely Baucco, a member of the bike club, Dam to Dam Century Ride committee
member, and Liking for BIking volunteer. “Seeing people reach their health goals and
making them feel a part of a cycling community is important, plus it’s fun riding with
new people.”
Liking for Biking is a program of Visit Wabash County and is designed to help riders train
for the annual Dam to Dam Bike Ride on September 7. The riding series is free and open
to everyone at any age and any level. Helmets are required. Specific information
regarding each of the family-friendly fun rides is available at visitwabashcounty.com or
by calling the Visit Wabash County Welcome Center.
