Donald E. Haywood, 75, of Marion, passed away at 7:05 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne. He was born in Middletown, Connecticut, on Friday, April 7, 1950, to Eugene E. and Georgette L. (Frawley) Haywood. He was married to Carol (Boyd) Haywood, who survives.
Donald graduated from Concord High School and served in the United States Navy from 1969-1975. Following his military service, he worked at Laconia Eye Wear, where he was an Optometrist Supervisor. He enjoyed watching and playing golf, woodworking, making many wood crafts, and working out in the yard. He loved being a handyman and enjoyed cooking breakfast and lunch, often making hamburgers.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Carol Haywood of Marion; daughters, Wendy (David) Joyal of Concord, NH, and Dawn Prine of Allenstown, NH; son, Jason (Sherry) Haywood of Dunkirk; grandsons, Jeremiah, Parker, and Charlie; granddaughter, Samantha; sisters, Gail Powell and Jeanne Haywood; and brother, Eddie Haywood.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Dennis Haywood and Jimmie Haywood.
At Donald’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral service.
