Yuvonna J. Newman, 76, Gas City, passed away in Marion General Hospital at 12:26 a.m. on Saturday, December 30, 2017. She was born in Marion on February 15, 1941, to the late Monte Turner and Hattie “Kay” (Ball) Harris. On July 13, 1976, Yuvonna married James B. Newman, and he preceded her in death in October of 1990.
Yuvonna retired from Trellaborg in Peru, Indiana, where she was a press operator for 36 years. She loved her job and enjoyed spending time with her co-workers. Yuvonna also loved spending time with her family, crocheting, crafts, and playing social media games.
She is survived by her daughters, Eleaner Manzzullo, Gas City, and Jenny (Rod) Rogers, Lancaster, Pennsylvania; son, Ralph (Dawn) Harris, Marion; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and sister, Sherry Davis, Marion.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, James Harris, Danny Harris, and Ricky Turner.
The family will receive visitors from 12 noon to 1 p.m. with Yuvonna’s memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 W. Kem Rd., Marion, IN. Father Richard Weisenberger will be officiating with burial taking place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery.
