William Zent, age 76, of Huntington, died at 2:50 a.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Tipton Place in Huntington.

Visitation will be from 3 – 7 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 11, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Rev. Micah Mobley officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Gardens of Memory in Huntington County with military graveside rites performed by VFW Post #2689 of Huntington.

Preferred memorials are to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association, in care of Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana, 46750.

Bill was born April 12, 1941 in Huntington, the son of Lawson Baldy and Virginia (Kocher) Zent. He graduated from Huntington High School in 1959 and served in the United States Army during the Bay of Pigs Conflict in Cuba. He married Laura A. Betz Bowers on October 14, 1978 at East State Street Church of God in Huntington. He earned a degree in drafting in Minnesota and worked as a warehouse supervisor at American Electric Power in Fort Wayne, retiring in 1997 after 35 years of service. Bill was a member of Faith Community Church of God and FOP #77 in Huntington. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and he loved fishing. He enjoyed racing Outlaw Midgets. He was an avid Cubs fan and loved traveling, especially taking cruises.

Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Laura A. Zent of Huntington; three daughters – Wendy (Cecil) Harter of Huntington, Teresa Bramblett of Alpharetta, Georgia and Pam (Jim) Falcone of Huntington; two sons – Kent Bowers of Big Lake and Steven (Cindy) Bowers of Frost Proof, Florida; 17 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren. His parents precede him in death.
