William L. Rockey, 73, Peru, passed away at 9:12 p.m. on Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis.
He was born in Logansport, Indiana, the son of William and Marguerite Yarian Rockey. He was married to the former Peggy Fitzpatrick, and she survives.
He graduated from Peru High School in 1960. Bill loved trains, especially steam trains, and he was a member of the National Model Railroad Association. He retired from CSX Railroad and from the Indiana National Guard and Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Rockey, Peru; two sons, William Rockey, Jr., Beaverton, Oregon; and Jeff Rockey and wife Janice, Peru; stepson, Brian Robertson and wife Brooke, Peru; stepdaughter, Michelle Jones and husband Greg, Ft. Wayne; and grandchildren, Skiler Rockey, Trevor Robertson, Emma Jones, and Riley Jones; and brothers-in-law, Stan Fitzpatrick, Macy; and Kevin Fitzpatrick and wife Sheila, North Manchester.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2016, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, with Pastor Kenn Freeland officiating. Burial will follow in Ever-Rest Memorial Park, Cass County.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
