William Isaac Howell

William Isaac Howell, 98, of Huntington, passed away at 3:27 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 while being cared for by Parkview Hospice at Parkview Huntington Hospital. William was a 1938 graduate from Huntington High School. From 1939 to 1942 he was owner/ operator of a restaurant and Ice Cream parlor in Bippus, Indiana. He retired from Fisher body (General Motors) auto plant in Marion, Indiana, after a career as a tool and dye specialist and Keller operator spanning over 24 years.

He was born on Thursday January 16, 1919 in Huntington the son of Roy and Ruth (Scott) Howell.

He was united in marriage to his sweetheart Margaret (Peg) Ehler Wiley on September 7, 1946 at Saint Mary Catholic Church. Their union was officiated by Father Thomas Dillon and lasted 71 years. She survives.

Additional survivors include a daughter: Anne Howell of Huntington; a son: Michael (Joanne) Howell of Fort Wayne; a grandson Chris (Nichole) Howell of Oldsmar, Florida; a granddaughter Allison (Mike) Rorick of Fort Wayne; a great grandson Sam Rorick of Fort Wayne; and two nieces Diane Riggers of Florida and April Howell of Huntington.

He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Ruth Howell; his brothers Eugene Roy, Jr. and Fred Howell; a sister Dorothy Howell; and a nephew Jack Howell.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 at 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Rosary will be at 7:30 pm at Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, September 30, 2017 with one hour of calling prior to the service at Saint Mary Catholic Church, 903 N Jefferson St, Huntington, IN 46750.

Interment will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
