William “Bill” Lee Bodkins, 76, Marion, passed away in his home at 11:27 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. He was born in Marion on December 20, 1941, and was the son of the late Orville and Catherine (Zowd) Bodkins. Bill married his loving wife, Marguerite “Joan” Melton, in 1976, and she survives.
Bill was a lifelong resident of Grant County and graduated from Mississinewa High School. He always liked working on cars, which led him to become the owner/operator of an autobody shop called Bill’s Shop. Bill was an avid sports fan, particularly football, and especially enjoyed watching the Indianapolis Colts. He loved his family and cherished the times he spent with them. Bill attended Marion Memorial Tabernacle.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Billy Joe (Tina) Bodkins, Jonesboro, and David Bodkins, Marion; grandchildren, Jeremy and Danielle Bodkins; great-granddaughter, Autumn Bodkins; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Also preceding him in death were his brother, Robert Bodkins, and sisters, Phyllis Coffield and Shirley Jones.
Services for Bill will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Marion Memorial Tabernacle, 1533 E. 37th St., Marion, IN, with Pastor Lois Helm officiating.
