William “Bill” Harry Easter

William “Bill” Harry Easter, 85, Marion, was promoted to glory at 11:14 p.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017. He was born in Sweetser to the late Asa and Diva (Shaver) Easter, and he married Violet Higginbotham on June 3, 1951.

Bill was a graduate of Sweetser High School and worked as a foreman at Essex Wire until his retirement. He was actively involved with his church, The Salvation Army Church, where he was a member for 56 years and taught Sunday School. Bill loved bowling, hunting, fishing, and playing horseshoes.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Violet; children, Diana Easter Butzin Carper, South Bend, Carl (Cindy) Easter, Swayzee, Richard (Shelly) Easter, Marion, and Wayne (Kim) Easter, Marion; grandchildren, Tammy Cole, Adam Holt, DJ Holt, Jamie Holt, Randy Mullenix, Ethan Easter, Nicholas Easter, and Zak Easter; 24 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rusty Easter; grandson, Tristan Easter; brothers, Tommy Easter and Dick Easter; and sisters, Virginia McCrary and Annie Monts.

The family will receive visitors from 2-4 p.m. and 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at The Salvation Army Church, 359 N. Bradner Ave., Marion, IN.

Services to celebrate Bill’s life will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 30, 2017, at The Salvation Army Church with Commissioner Ken Bailey officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.
