Wabash County Sheriff’s Department Respond to Robbery at Lafontaine Convenience Store

 

LAFONTAINE, Ind. – At approximately 3:19 a.m. on July 21, 2017, an employee with the Circle K convenience store in Lafontaine, contacted Wabash County Central Dispatch and informed them that a robbery had just taken place.  Upon arrival Deputies with the Wabash County Sheriff’s Department spoke with the employee who stated that two masked men, brandishing a handgun approached him in front of the business and forced him inside at gunpoint.  The two masked men then used items to restrain the employee while they stole money and other items from the store. The men then stole the employees’ vehicle and drove the vehicle to another destination where their vehicle was located.  During the investigation officers found items that had been left behind by the two men and officers were also able to watch the robbery using the stores video monitoring system.  DNA evidence was collected at the scene that helped with the advancement of the case.  The DNA collected was sent to the Indiana State Police Crime Laboratory and was returned with a positive match.  Along with other witness statements and evidence processed at the scene, two suspects were identified.  On February 9, 2018, Wabash Circuit Court warrants were issued and served on Cameron Blubaugh, age 26 of Andrews, Indiana, and Trevor Geyer, age 29 also from Andrews, Indiana. Cameron Blubaugh is currently in the Huntington County Jail on unrelated charges, and Trevor Geyer is currently in the Whitley County Jail on unrelated charges.

 

Assisting with the investigation were the Indiana State Police, Huntington Police Department, Huntington County Sheriff’s Department and the Andrews Town Marshal’s Office.
