W. Jeanne Riggs, 99, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 in Century Villa Health Care Greentown, Indiana. She was born in Union City, Indiana on July 11, 1917 to the late Russell S. and Marguerite Sophia (Gillard) Grubb.
Jeanne married Glenn L. Riggs on November 1, 1936 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1997.
Jeanne was a devoted homemaker; feeling that her family was most important. She taught Sunday School at the Converse Church of Christ where her father was pastor for many years. Jeanne enjoyed sewing. She was a member of Mier Community Church in which she was an active participant.
Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Peggy Larson, Jenison, Michigan and Pat (Jerry) Leonard, Channel Islands Harbor, CA; four grandchildren, Russell Larson; Shannon Jenkins;
Stephanie (Dana) Carlyle and Alexander (Mia) Leonard six great-grandchildren.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Alice Lavonne (Bonnie) and Joseph (Joe) Middlesworth; sister-in-law Shirley Grubb; brother Wilfred Royce (Bud) Grubb and great grandson Connor Burke Leonard.
A private graveside service was held at the Converse Cemetery, Converse, Indiana.
A memorial service will be held at a later date to celebrate her life.
