Vivian D. Barton, 73, of Evansville, IN, and formerly of Huntington, IN, passed away at 9:15 a.m. Friday, February 26, 2016, in Evansville, IN.
Mrs. Barton was born September 3, 1942 in Huntingburg, Indiana to Wallace H. and Alma M. Rodemaker Egbert. Her parents preceded her in death. Vivian married Charles Roger Barton on December 26, 1964, in Darmstadt, Indiana. He preceded her in death on March 15, 2011.

She graduated from Reitz High School in 1960 and from Deaconess Hospital of Radiology in 1962. She passed her National Boards and was a registered X-ray Technician from 1963 to 2004. During that time, she worked at St. Frances Hospital, Indianapolis, IN; Dr. Lawrence, Pugh and Bloss, Evansville, IN. Then she worked for Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN; Dr. Khan, Huntington, IN and for US Healthworks, Fort Wayne, IN.

Mrs. Barton passed her Internal Revenue Service exam and worked for H & R Block for 20 years in the surrounding area and then was employed with her husband at Roger’s and Vivian’s Income Tax Service for 15 years, in Huntington, IN.
She also enjoyed being a Shooting Sports 4H leader in Huntington County, and she taught Bible School and Sunday School in her local church over the years.

Survivors include: three daughters: Diane Marie Barton, Punta Gorda, FL; Amy Lou (Matt) Doctor, Huntington, IN; and Annette (Lee) Turpen, Evansville, IN; a brother: Paul A. (Karen) Egbert, Wadesville, IN; a sister: Melissa A. (Sam) Euler, Evansville, IN; eight grandchildren: David, Nathan, Jason, and Anna Doctor; and Michael, Luke, Peter and Rhiannon Turpen; and one step-granddaughter Katherine Turpen.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at St John’s Lutheran Church, 2465 West Keiser Rd., Columbia City, IN 46725.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 6, 2016, at St John’s Lutheran Church, 2465 West Keiser Rd., Columbia City, IN 46725 with the Reverend David A. Mommens officiating.

Burial will follow the service at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Columbia City, IN.
