Virginia L. Post, 70, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at 2:57 p.m. at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN.
Virginia was born on June 23, 1946, in Perry, NY, to Gerald and Mary (Rice) Post. Her parents preceded her in death.

Virginia graduated from Perry Central High School in 1965. She attended Occupational school in Rochester, NY, for key punch operation. She worked in Rochester at Richard’s Root Beer and Blue Cross Blue Shield for many years. She then worked in banking in Warsaw, NY, before moving to Huntington, IN, in the late 90’s. She then worked for Noll Printing, Ken-Koat, Inc., and Dairy Queen. Due to complications with her diabetes, she spent her last few years between Georgia, Florida and Indiana.

Virginia is survived by two sisters, Lora LaCroix, Huntington, IN, Patricia Freeman, Hollywood, FL; one brother-in-law, Earl Hauber; and numerous nephews and nieces in Florida, New York, and Indiana.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one brother, Thomas L. Post; and three sisters, Mary Katherine Prater Whitaker, Myrtle Huff and Nora Karrer. She was also preceded in death by brother-in-law’s, Harry ‘Marvin’ Huff and Kenneth Karrer.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN.

Additional calling hours will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, prior to the funeral from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 14, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at First Freewill Baptist Church, 1805 Salamonie Avenue, Huntington, IN with ministers, Tim Gillenwater, Michael Paynter, and Vernon Tackett.

A private burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
