Virginia L. “Ginny” Bowers, age 76, of Huntington, died at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne.

Visitation will be from 3 – 6 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington, Indiana. Funeral services will immediately follow at 6 p.m. Saturday at Bailey-Love Mortuary with Pastor Jim Splawn officiating. Burial will be in Lindale Cemetery in Eldorado, Illinois at a later date.

Ginny was born on December 13, 1940 in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Raymond and Beatrice (Cox) Potts. She graduated from Eldorado Township High School in 1958 and worked as a surgical technician at Deaconess Hospital. Ginny married William Bowers on January 21, 1983 in Las Vegas; he preceded her in death on October 12, 2005. She enjoyed selling real estate and was a homemaker. She volunteered at Mission House Ministries in Huntington for many years and loved gardening, singing, and puzzles.

Survivors include three sons – Carl (JoDeane) Knowles of Huntington, Ken (Kim) Knowles of Muskegon, Michigan, and Rich (Jennifer) Knowles of Chandler, Arizona; a daughter – Cindy (Ron) Criswell of Roanoke; a brother – William (Shirley) Potts of Marion, Illinois; two sisters – Jean Jensen of Eldorado, Illinois and Judy (Fred) Pfafman of North Fort Myers, Florida; her ex-husband – Miles “Pete” Knowles of Huntington; 16 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Her parents and a son, Andrew Knowles, precede her in death.
