Violet was born in Nashville, Tennessee on May 26, 1930 to the late Hershel and Ruby (Storey) Cushman.

Violet was a graduate of Marion High School and later worked for RCA for over 30 years. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, crafts, word puzzles. She was a devoted Christian woman and taught Sunday School classes at Sunnycrest Baptist Church and spent hours volunteering with Lifestream. She will be remembered for her kind smile, generosity and kindness to all.

She is survived by four children, Daniel (Cynthia) Collins and Denita (Greg) Foust, both of Marion; David (Teresa) Collins, Indianapolis; Dennis Collins, Phoenix, Arizona; three sisters, Marie Shepherd, Tennessee; Juanita Stevens, Marion; Margie Cushman, Florida; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great granchildren.

Violet is also preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Enyeart; 3 brothers, Emerie Cushman, Hershel Cushman and Morris Cushman; 1 sister, Syble Cable.

Funeral services for Violet will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana with Rev. David Moore officiating.

Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday until the time of the service.

Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion, Indiana.
