Victoria Elizabeth Gonzales

On Monday, November 13, 2017, at 6:24 p.m., Victoria Elizabeth Gonzales, 29 years of age, passed away in her Marion home due to a heroin overdose. Born on October 13, 1988, to George Gonzales, Sr., and Audie Johnson, Victoria was a resident of North Carolina and Marion.

Victoria’s life was one that had many victories but also had many battles. She was an addict who battled heroin addiction for many years but, whenever she had the opportunity, she spoke on behalf of addicts and sought to help them in whatever way she could. She eventually wanted to become a counselor to help people struggling with addiction. Despite what was going on in her life and the many struggles she faced, Victoria would not have wanted her life to be defined and remembered for her addiction. Her life was so much more than that, and she will be remembered and celebrated for the many lives she touched and affected in a positive way, the beautiful smile she always had on her face, her bubbly and vibrant personality, and how smart and outgoing she was. Victoria will also be remembered for the wonderful mother, daughter, sister, and fiancée that she was. And, lest we forget, everyone remembers her for her loud mouth because she was a very loud person and wanted to make sure she was the one who was heard and got the attention.

Victoria’s memory will forever be cherished by a family who deeply loved her. Survivors include her parents, George Gonzales, Sr., and Audie Johnson; daughter, ToriAna L. Stokes, North Carolina; sons, TreVon L. Mitchell and TeeGan L. Gaither, both from North Carolina; fiancé, Shawnn Pettiford, Marion; brothers, George (Malinda Ward) Gonzales, Jr., Marion, and Jose T. (Victoria Lobdell) Gonzales, Marion; nephews, Jose T. Gonzales, Jr., and Andrew L. Gonzales; paternal grandmother, Nora A. Gonzales, Marion; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her. Preceding Victoria in death were her maternal grandmother, Ernestine Johnson; maternal grandfather, James S. Johnson; and paternal grandfather, Joe F. Gonzales.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Victoria’s funeral service beginning at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Pastor Michelle Hank and Pastor Bill Gibson will be officiating with burial following at Estates of Serenity.
