Victoria A. “Vickie” Christman 87, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2017, at 9:40 a.m. in Huntington.
Vickie was born on March 11, 1929, in Huntington, IN, to Joseph and Elizabeth “Nellie” (Herrberg) Ritter. Her parents preceded her in death. She married William F. Christman on October 29, 1949 in Huntington, IN. He survives and resides in Huntington.
Mrs. Christman was a graduate of Huntington Catholic High School. She was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, and the Rosary Sodality.
Along with her husband, William, she is survived by six sons, Gary (Patty) Christman, South Whitley, IN, Rick (Jill) Christman, Andrews, IN, David (Jacqui) Christman, Kevin (Sunday) Christman, Greg Christman, all of Huntington, IN, Joseph (Michelle) Christman, Urbana, IN; two daughters, Linda Griffith, Karen (Jim) Wiley, both of Huntington, IN; one sister, Adeline “Addie” Martin, Huntington, IN; 20 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by one son, William Christman; one brother, Robert Ritter; and one sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Holzinger.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, February 21, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney- Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN. Recitation of the Rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Additional calling hours will be held prior to Mass from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, Indiana 46750, with Fr. Silvino Ndayambaje presiding.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Masses for SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in care of McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson Street, Huntington, IN, 46750.
A private burial will be at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
