Velma L. Clark, 95, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away at 9:07 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Rolling Meadows Healthcare in LaFontaine, Indiana. She was born to the late Ezra and Effie (Morris) Bowlds on September 1, 1921 in Ohio County, Indiana.
Velma was a High School graduate and graduated from Bible College. Velma married Derrel Clark on August 23, 1944, he passed away on August 5, 1984. She was a homemaker to her family. Velma was a member of Abundant Life Assemble of God in Indianapolis, Indiana. She loved her flower gardens and bible study. Velma taught for several missionaries in the hills of Kentucky.
Velma is survived by her sons, Roger Clark (Kathy) of Pennsylvania and Barry Clark of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Ladonna (Bob) Ulshafer of Wabash, Indiana; brother, Eddie Bowlds of Florida; sisters, Jewell Bishop of Corydon, Indiana and Helen Rock of Owensboro, Kentucky; 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald David Clark and Terry DeWayne Clark, and three sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Wabash Friends Church, 3563 S. State Road 13, Wabash, Indiana 46992, with Pastor Alex Falder and Pastor David Philips officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro, Kentucky.
Calling for family and friends will be from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Sunday at the church. Preferred memorials are directed to Wabash Friends Church or Jewish National Fund, 78 Randall Avenue, Rockville Centre, NY 11570.
