Treva D. Venitz, 96, of Fairmount, Indiana passed away peacefully, Friday, March 18, 2016 at Summit Convalescent Center with her family by her side.

She was the only child of Frank and Grace Cray born on December 12, 1919.   Raised in Jonesboro, she was the last surviving graduate of Jonesboro High School, Class of 1937. She married Russell Venitz in 1939 and they were together nearly 70 years. They lived in Fairmount with two daughters. Treva was active in Girl Scouts, Jobs Daughters, Eastern Star and volunteered at Marion General Hospital Gift Shop for many years.

Treva is survived by daughter, Judy (Jim) Williams, Summitville, Son-in-law, Ron (Linda) Howe, Jonesboro. Grandchildren, Christa (Ron) Chitwood, Fishers, Craig (Kelly) Howe, Alexandria, Kyle (Fiancee’ Heather) Williams, Brownstown, IN, and Keri (Greg) DeDecker, Fairmount, IN.

She was very proud of her six Great-Grandchildren, Cody and Kaitlyn Williams, Gavin, Grant, and Kami DeDecker, and Emma Howe.  Several nieces and nephews.

Treva was preceded in death by husband, Russell in 2009 and daughter, Patricia Howe in 2001.

A special thank you for the care and love given to Treva to the entire staff of Summit Convalescent Center and Southern Hospice.

Memorial contributions may be sent to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society, 505 S. Miller Ave, Marion, IN 46953.

Family graveside services will be at Riverside Cemetery in Gas City at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to Armes-Hunt funeral Home & Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana.
