Terry was born in Warsaw, Indiana on January 10, 1937. He was the only son of the late Ovid and Mary (Bolinger) Joy. Terry passed away on July 3, 2017 in Colonial Oaks Health Care Center, Marion.
Terry was a 1957 graduate of Warsaw High School and later served in the United States Airforce. In late 70’s he moved to Marion and owned and operated Zook Home Improvement in Huntington until his retirement in 1996. On September 23, 1989 he married Valerie (Herring) Dunham. They spent nearly 30 happy and joyful years together.
In Terry’s free time he enjoyed watching old westerns, game shows and wrestling. Early in his days he enjoyed fishing and pheasant hunting. He also attended Grace Community Church.
Terry will be sadly missed by his wife, Valerie A. Zook, Marion; five children, Mark D. (Joni) Zook, Claypool; Scott L. (Jodi) Zook, North Manchester; Ron E. Dunham and Julie A. (Kim) Wise, both of Marion; Scott (Kim) Dunham, Gas City; half sister, Linda Zook; several cousins; 10 grandchildren, Bryce, Tanner, Sydney, Aidan, Justin, Jaimee, Chelsey, Jana, Ben and Tyler; 10 great-grandchildren, Ricky, Lilly, Taeshawn, Darion, Gracie, Alicia, Dawson, Liam, Karma and Benjamin. He is also survived by close family friend, Mike Bridges and his dog, Samantha.
Visitation will be from 11am until the time of service on Friday in Owen-Weilert-Duncan Funeral Home, Marion Chapel, 2722 South Washington Street, Marion, Indiana.
The funeral will be at 1pm on Friday, July 7, 2017 in the funeral home with Dr. Thomas Mansbarger officiating.
The burial with military honors will immediately follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion.
