Teresa Lynn Pettiford, 62, Indianapolis, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 20, 2016. She was born on December 10, 1953 to the late Consuela “Connie” Boyd and Kelso Pettiford.
Teresa will always be remembered for her affectionate laugh and bright smile. She enjoyed spending time with her family and watching game shows and doing word searches. Teresa was always the life of the party. She worked at the Social Security office in Marion as well as the Family and Social Services offices in Muncie and Indianapolis. Her passion was always to help others.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, Phillip Barber and Lyndon Willingham; two grandsons, Caleb Harris and Dakaira Jones; three brothers, Ronald (Gail) Pettiford, Patrick (Shera) Pettiford, and Kenneth (Marlene) Pettiford; sister, Darlene (Donald) Hawkins; step-brothers, Johnathan, Michael, John, Harry, Eugene, and Robert Boyd; step-sisters, Velvis and Denise Boyd; uncle, Carlos Hill, Detroit; nieces and nephews, Derrick (Sharene) Weaver, Deidre Pettiford Price, Carisha Gilmore, Diego Pettiford, and Angela Pettiford; and a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, Freedous and Luella Pettiford.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, July 29, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. with Rev. Andrew Morrell officiating.
