Susan Patricia Krieg, 71, Elkhart, died on Sunday, July 2, 2017, in her residence. She was born in Marion on December 10, 1945, to the late Alonza & Guenevere (Nall) Whelchel. Susan married James Krieg, Sr. on October 5, 1962. He preceded her in death on August 25, 2012.
Susan retired from United Technologies in Huntington, Indiana. She was an avid reader and enjoyed fishing and mushroom hunting.
Susan is survived by her sons, Jim (Karen) Krieg, Jr, Elkhart, Indiana and Scott (Angie) Krieg, Redkey, Indiana; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Linda (James) Crosby, Marion, Indiana and Verna Downam, Upland, Indiana; brothers, William Whelchel and Richard (Lois) Whelchel, both of Marion,Indiana and Kevin (Deb) Whelchel, Bitely, Michigan.
A graveside service for Susan will be held at 10 am Friday, July 7, 2017, at the Marion National Cemetery in Marion with Pastor Donny Ashley officiating.
