Star Marie Parson (Burkholder) left much too soon, but found her way home to the Lord on February 3, 2017 in Warsaw, Indiana.
Starr was born in Peru, Indiana to loving parents Lemoine J. and Margaret Daily Burkholder on January 11, 1955.
She was a graduate of Maconaquah High School in 1973. She married Berman Parson on April 11, 1981. She worked at Delphi/ EDS until 1997.
Starr was an avid gardener and expert canner. She was a lifelong sports fan, especially of Peyton Manning, the Indianapolis Colts, and she shared her father’s affection for the Chicago Cubs. She carried a love of dogs throughout her life, which she passed on to her daughter and grandchildren, who she also adored spending as much time as possible with. Starr loved talking to family and friends on the phone, and she could be counted on by all who knew her as everyone’s local “Weather Informant”.
She is survived by her husband Berman Parson, Roann; daughter Heather Mckinley (Aaron), Kokomo; sister Sherri Throop, Bristow; sister Sue Craft, West Lafayette; sister Shannon Eiseman (Jon), Denver; her grandchildren Taylor Mckinley, Ian Mckinley, and Sophia Mckinley, Kokomo; as well as her companion and protector “Thor”.
She was preceded in death by her parents “Burkie” and “Peg” Burkholder; her brother Danny Burkholder; nephew Tyler Burkholder; mother-in-law Sarah Mikesell; father-in-law Estel “Pappy” Parson; and her faithful friend and dog “Baby Bear”.
Visitation will be held from 2pm to 5pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West 3rd Street Peru. A service will follow at the funeral home at 5pm.
