PERU, Ind. – After months of preparing a new grocery store on Peru’s south side, the ribbon was cut on Monday for Shoppers Value Foods. Located in the old Marsh building, Shoppers Value Foods store owner Jeff Laycock said when Marsh closed in April, it was important to keep a grocery store on the city’s south side. Last month store manager Dave Brooks and office manager Amanda Brown hired 35 people, 16 of whom were employed at the old Marsh, and 4 others from surrounding Marshes that were shut down as well. Shoppers Value Foods hours of operation are 7AM to 10PM, 7 days a week.
