Sharon Lee Cupps

Sharon Lee Cupps, 73, LaFontaine, went to be with the Lord in her home at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, January 8, 2018. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 1, 1944, to the late Denver and Bennie (Wright) Ison. On June 11, 1960, Sharon married Hobert E. Cupps, and he survives.

Sharon retired from Marion General Hospital in 1992, where she worked as a nurse’s aide in the x-ray department for 13 years. She loved the Lord and was very involved in her church at Friendship Baptist. Sharon also dearly loved spending time with her four sons, grandchildren (who lit up her life), and her husband. She cherished those times in the early morning hours when she and Hobert had their coffee together.

Her love for her family made her house into a warm home to all who entered. Sharon enjoyed quilting, sewing, and cooking. She made the best chicken and dumplings, banana pudding, and rhubarb cobbler. Sharon was also known for the selfless person she was and how she always put others before herself. She will be missed greatly.

She is survived by Hobert, her loving husband of 57 years; sons, Timothy (Melanie) Cupps, Fort Collins, Colorado, Denver Cupps, Marion, Robert (Alejandra) Cupps, Peru, South America, and David (Leah) Cupps, Noblesville; 3 grandchildren, Catrina, Savannah, and Lincoln Cupps; sister, Elizabeth (Larry) Shaw, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Allan Ison.

The family will receive visitors from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. with Sharon’s Celebration of Life service beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at Friendship Baptist Church, 1921 W. Spencer Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Bruce Koontz will be officiating with burial following at Grant Memorial Park.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

For family medical reasons, the family requests that lilies not be sent. Memorial contributions may be directed to Friendship Baptist Church, 1921 W. Spencer Ave., Marion, IN 46952.
