Shane A. Duncan, 56 of Huntington passed away at 9:53 am on Monday, October 17, 2016 at his residence. He was a 1978 graduate of Huntington North High School where he was on the swim team. He received an Associate of Science degree from Ivy Tech in Human Resources. He also received a degree from IPFW. Shane served in the U.S. Navy from 1980 – 1985, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and the Sea Service Ribbon. He had worked at Jack Eiser Sales in Fort Wayne for many years, he later worked at the Washington House in Fort Wayne. Most recently he worked for Sees Supplies driving truck; he enjoyed taking his dog “Pooh Bear” on his routes. He was a member of Markle Church of Christ and went on several mission trips to Mexico. He also umpired for many years at the Markle Park. Shane enjoyed motorcycles and riding throughout his life, he loved swimming at the YMCA, especially long distance swimming.

Shane was born on June 27, 1960 in Fort Wayne, the son of Jerry L. and Donna Joy (Millraney) Duncan.

Survivors include a daughter: Sheryl Anderson Duncan of Huntington; his father and stepmother: Jerry and Pat Duncan of Markle; two sisters: Sheila (Brian) Rethlake of Huntington; Lori Gottfried of Roanoke; 2 grandsons: Shane Downey and Mason Downey and a granddaughter: Brooklynn Tyree; three stepbrothers: Rick (Lynn) Smalling of Markle; Brent Smalling of Markle; Skip (Pam) Smalling of Huntington; two stepsisters: Javonda (Jim) Warpup of Warren; Darlene (Tim) Yaste of Huntington; and most recently a stepbrother: Scott (Cindy) Lund of Markle; and a stepsister: Sharon (Kevin) Banet of Markle.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Joy (Millraney) Duncan; stepmother: Ruth Ann Duncan and a stepsister: Sandy Schaufelberger.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11:00 am following visitation at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with Rick Smalling and Nathan Palmer officiating.

Memorial donations can be made out to Daniel Llamas Family (through Markle Church of Christ) or to Shane Duncan Grandchildren’s College Fund both in care of Myers Funeral Home, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
