Sandra “Sandy” S. Ruley, 69, Gas City, died at 1:40 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2016, at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born in Marion, IN, to Donald Max and Phyllis (Ford) McMillan-Everhart. On April 28, 1989, Sandy married Phillip Ruley, and he survives.
Sandy worked as a babysitter in her home. She enjoyed sewing, baking, and needlepoint. Sandy loved farming, wildlife and rescuing animals.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip; mother, Phyllis Everhart; children, Patricia (Gordon) Jackson, Hartford City, Robin (Stacy) Cooper, Somerset, Angela (Douglas) Martz, Van Buren, Kevin Ruley, Marion, Robert Ruley, Indianapolis, Alesia Ruley, Marion, Amber (Pat) Andrade, CA, Shelia Ruley, Marion, and Talitha Ruley, WA; grandchildren, Christopher Carey, Savannah Colbert, Tiffany Carey, Victoria Jackson, Zachary M. Adamson, Ashley C. Banter, Abigail Martz, Blake Martz, Maddison Glorio, Hannah King, Isaac King, Christine Wilson, Jensen Ruley, Justin Ruley, Shaylyn Ruley, Levi Uncapher, Aidan Ruley, Micahlah Aguilar; great-grandchildren, Gabriella and Reagan; brothers, Pat (Jenny) McMillan, Fort Wayne, and Mike (Patty) McMillan, Indianapolis; and many nieces and nephews.
Sandy was preceded in death by her father, Donald Max McMillan; daughter, Kelly Hiatt; and sister, Phyllis McMillan.
Friends and family may call from 9-10 a.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at the VA Protestant Chapel, 1700 E. 38th St., Marion, IN. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will follow at Marion National Cemetery.
