Sandra “Kay” Poling, 63, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her residence October 5, 2017. Kay was born April 7, 1954, to her parents George Harris and Mary Dicks. Kay married the love of her life, Jerry, on March 3, 1973.
Kay was a graduate of Marion High School in 1972. She worked at Richards Restaurant for many years. When Kay was not at work she would love to read and play computer games. She also enjoyed dancing to 50’s and 60’s music. Fishing was another hobby that Kay enjoyed doing with her time. She also loved going to the James Dean festival in Fairmount every September. She was able to enjoy it one last time this year.
Kay is survived her husband, Jerry Poling, Marion; Son, Christopher (Sandra) Poling, Marion; Sister, Kathy (Darrell) Smith, Marion; Father, Wayne Dicks, Marion; Granddaughters, Krystal Poling, Kingsman, IN, Vanessa Pena, Marion, and Adriana Pena, Anderson; Grandson, Delvon Martin, Marion; and 3 Great-grandchildren, Treyvon Cook, Jr., Cataleya and Cleon Lester, all of Anderson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Donald Harris, and sister Debra Casewell.
Arrangements for Kay have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Kay’s life will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Robert Bogue officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.
