Samuel Allen Mavrick, 60, was called home by his Heavenly Father Monday, January 9th at Dukes Memorial Hospital after battling illness.
Sam was one of three boys born to Paul and Marjorie Mavrick, who preceded him in death, along with his brother, Tom Mavrick; he is survived by one brother, Michael (Gerri) Mavrick. Sam was born August 15th, 1956 and was a 1975 graduate of Peru High School. After high school, Sam entered the work force and gave 32 years of service to Peru Utilities. Sam was well known and loved by many; a soft spoken man who offered his generosity whenever he could.
Sam married Marie Scott is June of 1975, and they remained married for 20 years. Together, they had four children, Samuel II ( Danielle Barton), Jon (Mandy Miller), Katie and, Kelly (David Christensen). Samuel II has four children of his own, Job, Joseph, Adalyn and Delaney. Jon, three boys, Bailey, Grayson and Asher. Katie, one daughter, Aymara. Kelly, also one daughter, Elizabeth. Sam was loved greatly by his children and grandchildren.
Services for Sam will be held Saturday, January 14th at First Baptist Church of Peru, in the Chapel beginning at 10 a.m. until noon. During the time, the family asks that anyone who wishes to visit and share memories, please do so. Noon to 1 p.m., a Memorial Service is to be held and will be officiated by Pastor Bob Adelsperger.
